Default Firefox and IE can't connect ... if >set the Internet Security slider to Medium

If I set ZA options "firewall" "internet zone security" to "high" all browsers lost connection or can't connect to internet. I should put in "medium" and all right. I would like to use in high.

What I'm doing wrong or it's normal. As I remember I use to set in high and no problems in navigation. What can I do to set in high and use browser.

By the way, blocks MSN and other programs after last update. If set to high.

    Regards

Either uninstall the MS updates KB951748 and KB951698 (in the Control Panel's Add and Remove Programs and check the "Show updates" box) or set the ZA's Internet Security slider to Medium<hr>
It is more secure to use the Internet Security slider at the High level not at the Medium level.
Or use the High and create specific rules will work as well with the latest MS updates.

If you wish to retain the MS updates and use the Internet Security slider at High (the default and correct setting), then do an uninstall of the ZA, after the required re-boot then manually remove the files found inside of these folders:
[*]WINDOWS\ Internet Logs folder[*]Program Files\Zone Labs folder[*]WINDOWS\system32\ Zonelabs folder[*] any files in the Windows\Temp folder[*] and any files found in the Temp folders found in the Document and Settings[*]empty the Recycle Bin

    Then re-install the ZA.

This method has been successful with the older ZA 5.5.094.000 and with the latest MS updated all installed, on a windows xp he sp3.

You should read the posts before posting one of your own. There are numerous discussions on this problem, which can be attributed to one of the MS latest patches.

    Hi,

There is another possible workaround; leave the MS updates, and leave the ZA firewall setting to high, and take the following steps:

    1. In the ZA firewall screen, in the 'Internet security zone' section, click on the 'custom' button
    2. In the 'High security settings for internet zone', select 'allow outgoing TCP ports', and type in the 'Ports' field: 80,443

This seems to work for me

The uninstall, wipe, and reinstall of ZA does not work. The only work around is to set Internet security to medium.
Checkpoint **bleep**s wind on this one.

I try Oldsod's checklist and it doesn't solves the trouble with ZA free 7.0.473.000.

In this case, either uninstall the MS updates in question or lower the Internet Security slider to Medium.

It' works here too, even I don't know much about this ports I've done that.

Seems to me a nice solution. I was wondering if some ZA expert talk about it.

    Tks a lot.
