Default Access Problem - regarding port

The Forum moderator has recommended removing the problematic windows update (KB951748). Before this post, some of us have already opened up a few tcp ports.

Those who have opened up the tcp ports (25,80, 443, 465), please note (if using outlook mail) that the default incoming server (pop3) port is 110. If SSL is used, it changes to 995. Incoming port numbers will have to be added to receive mails in outlook, provided opening up port option is used.

For the time being, I am going to stick to opening up port option and keep fingers crossed for the patch update for ZASS.

    Thanks
    SSri

I am taking that approach also. You can test your port vulnerabilities at www.grc.com using the ShieldsUp! tool. The ports seem to be stealthed.

How do you add/open up ports? We have the free Zone Alarm version.
