You should do the manual update. This version will be 7.0.483 with the fix; for all ZA firewalls. Just click the right version for yourself.
ZONEALARM SECURITY ADVISORY
Severity: High

Did not answer the question posted.
Please read the question rather than simply posting what I already read in several threads.

My version claims to be up to date.
Since I am not foolish enough to automatically get updates from Microsoft, I don't have the issue.
I just want to be SURE I have an update before I get the new patch from Microsoft installed.

For this fix to work, is it necessary to do a clean install or uninstall/ install?
OR
Is it sufficient to simply install this new .463 version of ZAISS
over
the ZAISS 7.0.470.000 version i already have installed?
I'd much prefer the latter,
as uninstall or clean install can be quite a pain....

Hi!if not mentioned otherwise you can safely install over the existing version. This is actually the default behaviour for ALL ZA updates.... and to avoid any problems just do to the following:1. Uncheck 'load ZA at startup' on you current ZA (Overview --> preferences)2. Reboot the system3. Install the update (clean or upgrade)Cheers,Fax

I am one who didn't install the MS update KB951748.
Please confirm the correct order;
1.
I install Zone Alarm's fix for XP Pro, newest version 7.0.483
2.
I download MS Update KB951748

When
I download Zone Alarm's alarm I could do a clean install and start from scratch?
I ask because this is ONE fix and it would be nice to clean my Zone Alarm house.
Thank you Zone Alarm crew for your fastest fix ever.

I just have to say a big thank you for the fast turn around on this fix. I moved to ZA some years ago because my other supplier never responded to anything. Thanks team ZA.
