    really difficult to troubleshoot from remote...
    Have you tried already to reset your TCP/IP?

    Ok, here's the result of a Network Diagnostics check:
    Default IP gateway = FAILED
    DHCPServer = FAILED
    DNSServerSearchOrder = FAILED
    IPAddress = PASSED

    I don't want to give the full details of the IP addresses, etc. (ie: 100.100.0.0) in case there's a security issue in making these public. Something is amiss, methinks! It's getting late here in Spain, 11.55pm, and I've got a severe headache now so I will sign off in a little while and switch my brain off. Any thoughts?

    Thanks, Steve

    I downloaded and ran the WINSOCK xp FIX. Guess what? No difference!! I can't deal with any more of this, my brain is frying, so I'm going to bed. Thank you for all your help.

    OK, I've submitted a request to Tech Support as I'm out of guesses. I did try again just to experiment if shutting down ZA fixed the &quot;random&quot; connection problem and it still does........no issues at all when not running ZA.
    I even tried that FixWinsockXP.exe program........ZA still has the same issue......
    &lt;shudder&gt; I guess I'll turn on my windows firewall for now and keep watch here for news........

    NICE! my post to technical support returns an email:
    '7.0.483.000' is not a valid choice for Fieldname 'TrueVector Driver
    Version'
    when I submitted:
    Operating System=Windows XP
    Personal Product Name=ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
    Personal Product Version=7.0
    TrueVector Driver Version=7.0.483.000
    Contact Method = Web
    Survey opt in/out = Opt in
    Reported Issue Type=No Access
    Considering that is OBVIOUSLY correct.............this is the type of things that loses Customers.

    Help needed!
    I m trying to help an elderly neighbour who s using XP and has this problem with this hotfix Update.
    It is not listed in the Add/Remove programs; I have located it via My Computer and deleted it.

    I have downloaded the Zone Alarm latest version for ZA Anti-Virus.
    When I run it, the following message appears:

    Error: The file C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\\Installer_07140884506.log could not be opened.
    Access is denied.

    Any advice, ideas, etc?
    Thanks

    John

    </blockquote>I had exactly the same notification.
    Resubmit it with the TV product version as 'unknown', that will get through ok. I will never put this c%*p software anywhere near my computer again.
    Still no access and waiting for an IT geek to arrive and sort it out for me.
    I'll let you all know if he finds the problem.
