Default No internet access for 3 weeks now :(

I posted previously about loss of internet access on my neighbours computer Zone Alarm problem or Orange???
I thought it may have been a virus problem but it isn t.

I can t find the MS Windows Update KB951748 on my neighbour s computer. I did alter the ZA settings as advised on the site, turned ZA off completely and ultimately uninstalled it still no internet access.

Sadly I m getting nowhere. I wonder if anyone can advise on what I should do please?

    Thanks.

Thank you for your reply :-)
I uninstalled Zone Alarm and didn't find the KB951748 on my neighbour's computer - should I still download the ZA Bug Fix onto my computer and transfer it to his?
(Sorry if I sound dim, but my head's been going round in circles with this!!)

It is Sometimes very Difficult to Diagnose and fix a Computer from halfway across the Country,
without All the Details, without the ability to sit in front of your Computer monitor and see what's going on..

The New ZA 7.0.483.000 MS KB951748 bug fix is for all Windows XP with SP2 or SP3.

If your computer and your neighbour's computer are Vista Os then No Update is needed or available..

But if either of you are running ZoneAlarm on Windows XP SP2 or SP3, then I would Strongly Recomend Downloading this New Version and

Properly Shutdown the old ZoneAlarm, before installing the New ZoneAlarm..

1.) go into ZA Overview/Preference and Un-Check "Load ZoneAlarm on Startup"

then Reboot computer to remove the old ZA Drivers from memory, so they will not conflict with the NEW ZA Install.

2.) install the New ZA and Accept the default Settings and choose the TRUSTED ZONE and not the INTERNET ZONE..

Reboot computer and run a manual Check for UPdate of the Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware Definitions (if not running the Free Version..

    Good Luck..
