Default Zone Alarm still not working correctly

    Hey,
I downloaded the upgrade for the KB951748 problem and got connected but za wasn't working right so I went in and removed KB951748 but still za isn't running right. Pages are taking forever to download and at the bottom it will say "waiting for 72.173.29.........." instead of "zone alarm" or "ebay" etc....

Sometimes I have to hit the link a second time to "activate" it, and in Ebay I was going in circles with every other screen taking me back to log in. That seems to be better, but no perfect.

I know it is za because when I shut it down, everything works great again.

    Please help!

    Try a database reset:
    1) Ctrl + Shift right-click on ZoneAlarm System Tray icon

    2) Click Reset in popup box

    3) Click Yes in Reset Settings dialog box

    4) Click OK when prompted to reboot

    5) Follow onscreen prompts after reboot

If that doesn't work, follow these instructions:
    1) Append " /clean /rmlicense" (without quotes) to ZoneAlarm uninstall shortcut target

    2) Reboot into, and continue in, Safe Mode with Internet until installed ZoneAlarm requests first reboot

    3) Uninstall from shortcut

    5) Install ZoneAlarm

I'm having the same issue after the update.
Just tried the reset suggested to no-joy, guess I'll try the uninstall method next.
Edit: On a side note my ZA is saying "System Error: Please Reboot" in red
in the area where it usuallys says "Systems Active" in Green (which it switches back to occasionally).
Maybe related, maybe not, but couldn't do the Safe Mode part.
In an odd twist it's rebooting fine normally but if I try it not cancelling sptd.sys (whatever that is) then I get "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL" blue screen.
If I do cancel sptd.sys then it says along the lines of "sptd.sys driver mistakenly labelled a file pageable when it should be nonpageable" blue screen.
Also on another side note the HOTFIX for the IE patch is showing the download from this past April rather than a new one.

Blarg! (technical word) I tried both methods: database reset, and the /clean /rmlicense but neither worked. I still keep dropping internet connection and it restores right away, but drops again in a few minutes, then restores, etc.
This does NOT happen when ZA is shutdown.

I don't have any problems with ZA shutdown either.
When I tried disabling it so it doesn't start when the computer reboots I couldn't access the internet at all unless I started ZA then shut it down again.
    After that I was fine.
If I let it start with the computer it does as mentioned above.
Running without it altogether at the moment until I can try the Safe Mode uninstall.
Sounds like Zone Labs could use a new 'side' program to run after uninstalling to clean up everything after.
In theory they should do a better job of making one than some third party, right? ;c) Or just make a decent uninstall process!
