George,
Thank you.
Here is the information about Zone Alarm.ZoneAlarm version:7.0.483.000
TrueVector version:7.0.483.000
Driver version:7.0.483.000
The previous zone alarm version was 7.0.470.000.
After I installed the new version, I was unable to see the other computer on my network, but I can connect to the internet OK.
Zone Alarm seems to be working fine, but My Network Places doesn't have the other computer listed.
I have tried running the network setup wizard, but it doesn't add the other computer to the network.
I have tried shutting down zone alarm, but that doesn't make any difference.

bill-p,
You need to go to Firewall > Zones and create an IP Address entry for every other PC on the lan that you wish to see. If the other computers also have ZoneAlarm and you want them to also see other network computers, you will have to do the same for them.
Typical entry:
Name: Laptop1
IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Entry Type: IP Address
Zone: Trusted

Same problem different user. I have installed ZA 7.0.483.000. I now get onto the internet just fine, but ZA keeps blocking access from other network computers.
Yes, I have set up the firewall to place the network 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 into the trusted zone. Likewise, a range of netwrok computers
192.168.1.100-192.168.1.104. (Yes this range includes both the sending and receiveing computer on the network). The loopback adapter has also been placed int he trusted zone. I am running XP sp2
All this above ZA firewall set up has been working for years. Then last week the internet could not be accessed. Upron installing the 483.000 ZA update, the internet came back, but, lo, even though the firewall was set up to place the network and such in the trusted zone, it starts blocking network calls form other network computers. If I go into the firewall logs I can right click on the latest block alaert and set this to the trusted zone and the network will work for a little while, then ZA will block netork calls again.
Now, I cannot seem to get ZA firewall to accept the network into the trusted zone.
I even found a screen in ZA firewall main advanced settings where I can uncheck (automatically put unprotcted networks into the internet zone, and I tried un-checking "filter IP traffic over 1394" that did not help either
Anybody have any thoughts?

I have set zone alarm parameters on both computers so IP addresses are known and in the trusted zone.
I shut down zone alarm and tried to get MY NETWORK PLACES to show the other computer on my network, and it won't do it.
There must be a problem with the LAN settings, but I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is.
I hope someone with more knowledge of the settings can give me some guidance.
Thanks.
