1.) Go into ZASS Firewall / ZONES and make sure that your IP/DHCP, DNS and Loopback Addapter are in the TRUSTED Zone, not Internet Zone..2.) Go into Program Control /Program Tab and Give "Generic Host Process for win32 Services" Supper Trust Lever, and Three Green Check Marks for Trusted/Internet Access and Trusted Server Rights..NOTE: Make sure all of the following Programs have Trusted and Internet access (2 Green Check Marks):a.) All Microsoft and Windows Programs have Green Check marks for Trusted and Internet Access..b.) Generic Host Process for win32 Services (svchost.exe) also allow Trusted Server Rights (no Internet Server Rights)c.) IE Crash Detectiond.) Internet Explorer or FireFoxe.) Malicious Software Removal Toolf.) True Vector Service (If it is listed)g.) Zone Alarm Clienth.) Zone Alarm Updating Clienti.) GoergeV,
do I see a conflict here or am I missing something? You wrote the following but there are two different directions for GHP:

2.) Go into Program Control /Program Tab and Give "Generic Host Process for win32 Services" Supper Trust Lever, and Three Green Check Marks for Trusted/Internet Access and Trusted Server Rights..
NOTE: Make sure all of the following Programs have Trusted and Internet access (2 Green Check Marks):
a.) All Microsoft and Windows Programs have Green Check marks for Trusted and Internet Access..b.) Generic Host Process for win32 Services (svchost.exe) also allow Trusted Server Rights (no Internet Server Rights)
I'm concerned because since the fatefull day [8 July 08]
my computer has been a meeesss: with so many
of issues that have not been resolvedThanksRichPS What is the lookback adapter?

I used to see it occasionally
in the zones, but haven't for about a year.

192.168.1.254 - Router and Modem Default IP Address
"The IP address 192.168.1.254 is the default for a few brands of home broadband routers and broadband modems.

You most likely will have to do a Winsock fix.

    Repair Winsock
    Windows XP SP2 only

    Goto Start > Run
    type cmd and click OK.
    Type netsh winsock reset
Press ENTER . Restart immediately !
Note that there is a space between the commands , example netshSPACEwinsockSPACEreset

Then set the new DNS & DHCP & Gateway addresses to trusted

This MBSA is the key to showing me that my computer works better than it did on July 1. Can anyone see why it does not work?
