    Default I have forgotten by ZA software security password

    Dear GeorgeV (Guru),

    I have tried your method but to reset the ZA, I still need to enter the password.

    Pls help.

    Thank your



    Please assist me in solving my password issue as I cannot make changes to my
    security setting.

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>Sorry, but we are All Users Here in this User Forum..No user in this Forum have access to your computer or ability to find out what it was..One of the Problems with Setting a Password..1.) you got to remember it..2.) once you create a Password, if it were easy to bypass or figure out what the Password is, then It would defeat the porpose for the Password..---------------------Try to Reset your ZA Database..ZA has incorparated a new way to Reset DataBase files so users don't need to go into Safe mode.


    To repair this problem, please follow the steps below. Please note that
    this will remove your program permission settings (so you may want to make
    note of them), but re-establishing them is a simple process.

    1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
    2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock in the system tray lower right corner
    3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
    4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
    5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
    6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after reboot

    I've tried this fix, but it asks for your password

    For the record, though, I did not forget mine... I installed it on the administrator account, and it ran great. Then my husband added additional users, and we've been locked out ever since- even from the administrator account.

    I think I'm going to have to re-install

    I have consulted ZA technical people and provided me with the following procedures
    to remove the password and reset it again without re-install the software.

    First boot into Safe Mode, please follow these steps to do so.

    1.) Power down your computer.
    2.) Start the system, and immediately begin tapping the 'F8' key once every second.
    3.) You will get a startup menu; choose 'Safe Mode' by using the up/down arrow keys.
    4.) Press Enter.

    Once you have booted into Safe Mode, please continue.

    1.) If you have Windows XP, click Start -&gt; My Computer. In Vista, go to Start -&gt; Computer
    2.) Double-click your C: drive, probably called local disk c:.
    3.) Double-click on the Windows or Winnt folder.
    4.) Double-click the Internet Logs folder.
    5.) Please delete the following files here:

    - Backup.rdb
    - Iamdb.rdb

    6.) Close this window, then right-click and empty the recycle bin.
    7.) Clear the registry entry with the steps below:

    - Go to Start -&gt; Run
    - Type in regedit and press OK
    - On the left find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Click on the plus next to this and make it a minus.
    - Find the SOFTWARE folder; click on the plus and make it a minus
    - Find the Zone Labs folder; click on the plus and make it a minus
    - Find the TrueVector folder; click on the plus and make it a minus
    - Find the Store folder; click on it
    - On the right, locate and left click on the 'upwval' entry
    - Press delete and then say yes to the alert that pops up

    8.) Close this window, then restart the computer normally. Be sure to answer any configuration screens you may receive
    once your system has restarted.
