Default Can we get OLDER versions of ZoneAlarm or are we stuck with the new ones that do NOT Work?

Finding problems here with New version. Guessing my problem from NEW version got yesterday.

Had **bleep** antivirus and ZoneAlarm. Windows XP crashed. Recovered with HP Recover. Lost use of both security programs.

Uninstalled from Control Pannel. Downloaded/installed Avist then ZoneAlarm. Let computer restart as asked.

Seems to be working when logged in to XP Home as Owner.

When log On as Guest get 'error box' with:

To protect ZoneAlarm security settings from unauthorized access, ZoneAlarm is not supported on guest accounts.

Both programs worked before the crash. What's up?

Has ZoneAlarm changed the Free Firewall since got the version that worked?

Can this be fixed?? HOW PLEASE ?

- this lists all available versions- past > present.
When you say...NO IDEA what XP Home # have or where to find. Will pick 8,0 and try again. This is actually software version of your ZoneAlarm firewall; not you OS. So normally, it will be 7.0 or 8.0; but it's always a good idea to always list your exact version within your posts. Don't know what you have - open ZA > Overview > Product Info. and then list 7.0.483, etc.Hopefully, you remember the last version that worked for you.
If not 8.0.298.035 there is 8.0.298 or 8.0.065 ...
Click here for some info for downloading ZA > http://forums.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/...ssage.id=73645
For some users, switching/ log-in
'guest box' does gives errors.

Right click your ZA tray icon , see "About..." = this lists your current ZA status. You can click on "Copy to Clipboard" button, press "OK" > then you can right click/ 'Paste'
into your message post the following condition of your ZoneAlarm product...example of
>
ZoneAlarm Pro version:8.0.059.000
TrueVector version:8.0.059.000
Driver version:8.0.059.000
Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.202.0
Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200904.5655

Default Thank you NaiveMelody

Really wanted to know what to do to fix problem. So any suggestion of version to get? The '8.0' thing was from a box under my message and forced to pick from a list to get question to post. Remember one choice had something made me think was a Windows version number. This is copied from ZoneAlarm that have:

ZoneAlarm version:8.0.298.000
TrueVector version:8.0.298.000
Driver version:8.0.298.000

Is there ANY company has security that JUST WORKS? Went to this because Norton started blocking Guest internet access! Live Help maybe 4 different people and over 1 1/2 hours still NO fix! NOW THIS!

Thanks again,

Default Re: guest account issues

1 - if you had a previous version
of ZA Free firewall, 8.0.65, 7.0.483 that did work - as you wanted, you 'may' try to re-install the older version as you first mentioned in your first post. You would need to 'properly' un-install this 8.0.298...

You can try this: just prior to new downloading attempt, on your current/ old
ZA
> go to "Overview" > Preferences > General - "uncheck the box for" = 'Load ZoneAlarm at startup' > click once, wait - it may take a few
seconds for it to register, but it will clear the box.[*]
Please restart/ reboot. <[*][*]>
Now, download and install your new version/ upgrade. Unloading the current/ old version will ensure less conflicts between the old version and new version; after install you will have to re-start your pc. { This is a Super Tip - that will help prevent some 'true vector issues/ vsmon.exe' on upgrades/ updates }

Try the new ZoneAlarm Removal Tool, link below:
Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator"
This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions.
[*]Or you may use other un-install instructions, too.
2 - click here > http://forum.zonealarm.org/zonelabs/...age&page=1[*]these are past posts with similar issue.[*]you can ask for ZA Support for their assistance:[*]Customer Service/ email

You can use a ZoneAlarm Support Center Knowledge Base
