Default After upgrade to ZA Extreme Security, everything SLOW, Netflix on-line movies won't play

I have Windows Xp.
As soon as I upgraded to ZA Extreme Security, the computer takes forever to boot up, forever to load any page, forever to respond to any clicked instruction.
As subject mentions, the Netflix on-line movie viewer will not work.
Please help, or tell me how to DOWNgrade back!
thanks

Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition

Hi!most probably a bad upgrade, have you tried to reset the settings?1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after rebootIf the above fails try toremove ZA with /clean switch:http://www2.nohold.net/noHoldCust542...n_install.html**Be sure to remove the folder mentioned at the end of the document and keep note of your license.Reinstall ZA Extreme:http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...298_035_en.exeIf the above also fails, proceed to a complete manual removal and reinstall, including a malware check and a system cleaning. get a help and support window, close this.

07.) Place a dot next to "Show Hidden Files and Folders"
08.) Remove the check from "Hide Protected Operating System Files

sure, you should seek help from someone who is familiar with editing the
registry.

For information about how to edit the registry in Windows, from your
desktop, click Start >> Run >> and type regedit. Click on Help >> Help
Topics. Under the Contents tab, click Change Keys and Values (this may
be found under the How to... section).

Also, you should always make a backup of the registry before editing it.
You can find this in the same section of the Help files.

30.) Close this window, then empty your recycle bin.
31.) Restart the computer.
32.) Check the system for malware. Check with MBAM and SuperAntispyware. See links here:http://forum.zonelabs.org/zonelabs/b...essage.id=378733.) ZA does not play nice with many other security tools. They may block its correct functioning including updates. For example, spyware doctor, spysweeper, trojan hunter, win patrol, PCtools Threat Fire, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec, Adaware, SpybotS&D, WinPatrol, AVG, NOD, Kaspersky and manyothers. If you want to troubleshoot issues with ZA please remove these tools (not enough to disable) and install back (if you really need) only after you see your ZA is working as it should.34). Clean your system and registry with ccleaner.comhttp://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds/downloadbinslim35). Re-download the ZAX installerhttp://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...SPSetup_en.exe36). Install with default settings do NOT alter them. After re-boot go to ZA antivirus/antispyware and 'Update Now' and do not restore any previous ZA settings. If you still have problems please contact ZA technical support at: www.zonealarm.com/tsform Cheers,Fax

I tried the quick Reset you suggested:
it had no effect.
I then spent a half hour going through your suggested clean uninstall process (although I didn't know where to look for the "Internet Logs"
you indicated).
And, BTW, after I completely uninstalled ZA, I tried out my browser, to load opening page and then Amazon.com and the loads were instantaneous.
This so-called "clean uninstall" too had absolutely no effect:
my opening page takes
2.5 minutes to loadclicking on Amazon.com, that page took
2.5 minutes to fully load
I am not a computer geek and would not dare go through the complex "manual uninstall" procedure you outline at considerable length
I cannot believe that this is necessary, or caused by a "bad upgrade".
It is ridiculous, and has to be due to an error in your own application's software.
I have seen this similar suggested procedure in your answers to many other problems.
I wonder how many other customers also got no results.
Even though I just spent another $30 to upgrade to "Extreme Security", I am thinking of completely uninstalling Zone Alarm and finding another company's Internet/Anti-Virus security problem
Please advise with a fix that does not require a degree in computer technology.

Hi!its clearly explained in the instruction. Did you follow them to the letter? Does not look like.... may be you can get some help from someone near you? Relax, don't rush into the instruction do all points slowly and remove other third party software at boot. Check for malware. If you don't like to follow these instruction please contact the official ZA technical support: www.zonealarm.com/tsform You can ask for a refund here: www.zonealarm.com/csformAlso note that ZA staff does NOT monitor this board, we are all users here, trying to help each other. Except for the one step in your sequence that I mentioned (I didn't know where "Internet Logs" are located), I followed all the instructions carefully.
Now I have to make a confession, which only demonstrates how little I understand of the workings of the computer.
My new ISP provides free McAfee internet security suite.
So I thought I would uninstall Zone Alarm, and install the free McAfee.
McAfee had a series of preparatory steps to take, prior to downloading their own security.
One of these was to go to Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options and under Browsing History, to delete Temporary Internet Files (along with Cookies, etc).
When I did that, it seemed like it took almost an hour for the computer to delete all the Temporary Internet Files.
So before uninstalling Zone Alarm, I decided to try a little internet surfing, and I found that there was a huge improvement in the loading of pages, clicking on links, etc.
So now I am thinking that periodically clearing the Temporary Internet Files and other features of Browsing history might be something that I am supposed to be doing, for this very reason, of unclogging the system.
Could this be the source of my problems with the new ZA EXtreme Security?

Hi!cannot really say... sorry. If you would have followed my instruction web cache and temp files would have been deleted under point 34. :8}Also clean your virtual data (ZA browser security --> settings --> advanced --> Virtualization --> 'clear virtual data')Usually slow performance is due to third party software conflicting with ZA, low memorysystems (less than 1GIGA), malware infections or badly mantained systems. Try to boot your system only with ZA and standars OS services and programs.1.) Click Start -> Run
2.) Type MSConfig in the run box and click OK
3.) Once in MSConfig, click the Startup Tab
4.) Remove the checks from everything except ZLClient
5.) Click the Services Tab
6.) Place a check in "Hide All Microsoft Services"
7.) Now remove checks from everything other than TrueVector Internet
Monitor and ForceField, and click OK.
8.) Restart your computerHow does it work?
NOTE: You can place your computer back into a normal startup process by
going back into msconfig and choosing the Normal Startup option on the
General tab.
