    Default Problem with ZoneAlarm 8.0 and Acronis True Image Home 2009 working together

    Hello,
    since ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 8.0 I have serious problems with starting the software "ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE HOME 2009".
    This software needs 25 minutes to initialize.With ZoneAlarm version 7.0 this action needed only 5 seconds.
    In ZoneAlarm I gave the Acronis-Software all permissions.
    I contacted the Acronis-support and they told me that both programs have a problem to work with each other because they both use the "low-level-drivers" (whatever this might be). They gave me some possibilities to try out, but nothing can help.
    Do you have any idea what I could do to make these two programs work together? ZoneAlarm V. 7.0 had no problems with this.
    I look forward to an answer from you all in the forum and I would be happy if you could help me to solve this problem.

    Perhaps no answer because people don't have your version.
    Perhaps because the word 'initialize' has several meanings.

    What is the version number of that 2009 version - is it v.9, 10, 11, 12?
    What do you mean by 25 minutes to initialize? Do you mean for the Acronis window to show up or do you mean to begin selection of where/what to backup? If the latter, shut of the Distributed Transaction Links service.

I have ZoneAlarm 8.0 on both Vista and WinXP Sp3 with Acronis True Image ver. 11 on both with no problems.. TrueImage takes 10 Seconds to initialize..2.) I have Upgraded True Image v11 to Acronis True Image 2009 (Version 12.0.9709) on both Vista and WinXP with ZoneAlarm 8.0With No problems with TrueImage 2009.. it initializes and ready to Backup in 10 seconds..---------------------------------------

    thank you both writers for the replies.
    Yes, zaswing, your assumption is right.

    I have the build 9646 of the newest version of Acronis True Image Home 2009.This is the actual German version. The international version is
    higher and as the Acronis support told me, the problem is known there and will be repared with the coming update for German users.
    And what I meant with &quot;25 minutes to initialize&quot;: this is the time the program needs to show up the program-window - really. But then everythingruns as it should.Closing the distributed transaction links service does not help.
    So I am looking forward to the announced update and thank you for your help.
