Using internet time servers to keep my laptop's time in sync using the regular Windows "Date & Time Properties" dialogue from the system tray

If I use time.windows.com or time.nist.gov all is OK

If I use pool.ntp.org (or any of their hosts) ZA blocks access, unless I add the server to the Trusted zone.

I don't understand the inconsistency as surely all time servers are using port 123.

I am unclear about the security implications of having an internet host in my Trusted zone.

I can supply packet dumps/logfiles/whatever on request, but I don't know what will be useful to help resolve this.

thanks in advance for any assistance
