Not sure which forum to post this in so move it to the correct one if you want.
But for the past 6 months, maybe longer I have been occasionally getting a BSOD with a bad_pool_caller error. It didnt really happen often enough for me to search out the cause, but recently it's been happening every time I leave torrents running and my screensaver starts up. Takes about 2-3 minutes after the screensaver starts for the BSOD to appear, sometimes it takes a few hours.
I finally got windows debugger tools to find out the problem and it points to vsdatant.sys as the culprit, which is a zone alarm file. I uninstalled zone alarm, got rid of every registry key associated with it and tried to get rid of every bit of ZA info on my computer. I then reinstalled hoping it was just a corrupt entry or file, but no longer then 10 hours later I BSOD again with the same error and same file listed in windows debugger.
Anyone have a fis for this or know exactly whats causing the problem with torrents and my screensaver. It can happen with utorrent or azureus running and my screensaver Electric Sheep.
