    Default ZAP 7 & Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7

Hi all, my first time using Zone Alarm.
Ive just downloaded Zone Alarm Pro 7 and Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7 because they seemed to get the best reviews for Firewall and Anti-virus respectively.
I was wondering which order would be best to install them?
ZAP comes with Anti-virus aswell but I presume I can disable or choose not to install this component.
So does anyone know if it will matter which is installed first?
    Thanks for any help

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

Install the KAV before the ZA Pro- the KAV is very fussy software.

The ZA pro does not have an antivirus scanner, just an anstispy scanner (no conflict).

After the install, place the vsmon.exe and the zlclient.exe as Trusted in the KAV. Then open the ZA's Program list and right click the avp.exe and open the Options and check the first two items. Then make sure the avp.exe has three green bars and three green checks, one red X (or ask) and a green check. Then disable the Emial checker in the ZA ( assuming you will use the email checker of the KAV) since using two email checkers at the same time will cause conflicts.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
    I will follow your instructions.
I dont expect too much trouble,
I think Im right in saying
ZA uses KAV in their IS suite.

Oh, yes, the ZAISS and the ZA AV softwares both use the KAV7 antivirus engine/definitions base. But the ZA Pro should be OK with the KAV, as you are saying. Cheers. Oldsod
