Default build 408 and XP Security Center

I did a clean uninstall of build 337 (as per the instructions posted in these forums many times) and then installed build 408. Now the XP Security Center complains that I have no firewall or AV running, even though ZA7 is up and running. Anyones else seeing this same problem? Is there a way to force ZA to re-register?

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Try this SirDracula

    (Thanks to guru fax)
    1. Uncheck "Load ZA at startup" (overview --> preferences)2. Reboot your system3. Turn ON windows firewall (not ZA); double check that now XP firewall is reported ON4. Now turn ON ZA firewall (manually from the start menu --> Programs --> ZoneAlarm security...) and check back "Load ZA at startup"

Thanks! It works now. I hope it sticks and don't have to do it after each reboot.

So you left the XP Firewall on? If so, that is what Security Center is reporting is on. I guess two firewalls just adds some overhead. On line interactive gaming is probably the only thing that would show an impact.

Hi!Security Center should report that ZA is ON and not windows firewall.ZA (when running at startup) will disable windows XP by default unless you have unchecked the option "Disable Windows Firewall" under the ZA firewall tab --> advanced --> General settings.Yes, running two firewalls has an impact and will generate serious conflicts.Cheers,Fax

No. Turn off Windows Firewall, ZA will do it by default anyway, unless you changed its default options.
