I updated yesterday to 7.0.408.0 but it stalled about 80% of the way through while on some .tmp file called C:\DOCUME~1\Mark\LOCALS~1\Temp\GLBF.tmp . I then had to cold reboot my computer to get it going. When it came back up there was no zone alarm icon, but vsmon.exe is running (does that mean my computer is protected, or not?). When I tried to rerun the install file, it gave me this message:
Error: Setup is unable to shut down the TrueVector service. Install cannot continue without shutting down the TrueVector service. Please use the service manager to shut down the TrueVector service and then restart the installer program.
I went into Services and I do see the True Vector component, but right clicking on it does not allow me to stop it - those options are grayed out. There are some tabs under Properties, but in the General tab, there are options at the bottom to start, stop, resume, pause, etc, but they are all grayed out.
So how do I use the service manager to shut it down?
Should I just try to uninstall Zone Alarms using Add/Remove and start all over? I have no desire to screw up my computer, so any safe suggestions are appreciated!
