Default Questions to clear up upgrade confusion???

    I have been using :
    ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:6.5.737.000
    TrueVector version:6.5.737.000
    Driver version:6.5.737.000
    Anti-virus Vet engine version:
    Anti-virus signature DAT file version:30.4.3849.000
    Anti-spyware engine version:
    Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200709.2465
    AntiSpam version:
Recently I decided to upgrade to version 7.0.
I downloaded what I thought would be the latest version (7.0.337.000).
    After reading
the posts in the forums here I find this version is behind by 2 upgrades (7.0.408).
Other posts tell about version 7.0 not working properly after installation over 6.5.
So before I leap, I would like to find the least painful way to do this.

    My questions are:

Should I let the ZA servers do the upgrade or do it myself manually?2:

If I do it manually, should I first delete version 6.5 before installing version 7.0, or can 7.0 be safely installed over 6.5?3:

If the answer to # 1 is yes, that will negate # 2, so then I would like to know if I can skip to version 7.0.408 & where to get it?
    Thanks in advance.

Your thoughts and assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Many people have 'upgraded' to v408 (myself included). However, this has not been completely painless in ALL cases (myself included). Of course, you are welcome to install whatever you like (it is your PC), but I would first do the following if I were you:
    1) Read all posts concerning the version you are thinking of installing. This will give you a good idea of POTENTIAL problems you MAY face, and their resolution (if possible)
    2) As far as you are able, make a backup / copy of your current system, to make it easier to revert to a previous condition, should the need arise.
    3) If you decide to go ahead with the installation, follow the instructions given on this forum to the letter!
It may well be that your installation will be completely trouble-free, and that you will experience no problems whatsoever. However, you may also NOT be one of these lucky, happy people. Take a little time and gain a little knowledge before jumping in. If your current version is working perfectly, it may be inadvisable to change it just because the new version is a higher number than yours. If you are having issues, it may be that the newer version will solve them. Then again, it may give you new issues to worry about. Newer is not always neccessarily better.

    thanks for the quick response.
    You are probably right.
I don't have any issues with my current version.
    Why create problems for myself.

I'll figure it out at the end of subscription.

    Thanks again.
