Default ZA 6.5 Download

I have encountered compatibility problems with CA antivirus and ZA 7.0.408.00. The problems have been well described in other posts. I am now trying to revert back to ZA 6.5.737.000. I download the setup file and when I attempt to run it I get the message the file is not a valid win32 application.
The file I downloaded is zlsSetup_65_737_000_en.exe and is 2.42 MB (2,545,664 bytes) is size.

I have successfully downloaded and installed ZA 6.1.744.001.

Should I be satisfied with the version I have installed, or pursue upgrading to 6.5.737.000?

Also I tried to upgrade to version 7.0.337.000 (the version I was using before the attempt to upgrade to 7.0.408.000 and was running just fine with CA antivirus installed) and get the compatibility message when I try running the setup application.

I am running Windows XP SP2

Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
Software Version:6.5
Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Welcome to the Zone Alarm User Forum..There are several problems involved in your Request..1.) all flavors of the Version 7.xx Zone Alarm FREE Firewall Now include the AV/AS Modules for the Full Trail Version of the Security Suite, and it is these additional Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware Modules that may be conflicting with your CA Security Files.. the old ZA Free Firewall Version 5.xx and 6.xx did not include theses additional install modules..2.) the problem with the file is not a valid win32 application. is an indication that the ZA 6.5.737.000. Install file is Corrupted.. You need to Delete that file and Run a FREE Cleanup Utility calledCCLEANER.EXE from www.ccleaner.com
then Download a Fresh copy of ZAFree 6.5.737.000 preferably with IE7, and not any download manager or excelerator program as that may be what caused your corrupted download..Here is the ZA Direct link to the Previous FREE versions of ZA..http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...seHistory.htmlGood Luck..

Just completed all your suggestions
deleted the ZA alarm file (I also deleted the ZA ver 7.0.373.000 setup file)
downloaded installed and ran CClean (actually also ran Regesty Mechanic)
downloaded a new copy of zlsSetup_65_737_000_en.exe (the file size was identical to my original copy)
and got the same result, message that the ZA Setup file was not a win32 app.

Found several other posts with the same problem downloading a workable setup file for ver 6.5
Finally found previous post by Sardanaphalus written around a month ago. Had the same problem and reported that the complete file was found on oldapps.com. I downloaded it from that location, installed and all is working well with ZA 6.5.373.000. I also tried the ZA ver 7.0.373.000 found on oldapps.com thinking it might work with CA antivirus since it installed previously but no luck. I will stay with the ver 6.5 for now.
