Default ZA free upgrade to 7.0.408.000 results in System Error

Hello All,

I have just updated my ZA v7.0.337.000 to v7.0.408.00, and upon a reboot received the following error in my system event log:

Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.

Has anyone run into this? I am considering uninstalling and reinstalling the previous version, but hate to have to setup all my network and program settings all over again. My system info is as follows:

Thanks for the reply BigDawg_Daddy. I am trying to avoid downgrading though. Although if that is the only option, then so be it.

Downloading 70362000 now. Do you know if there is a way for me to backup and restore the ZA settings if I uninstall v70408000 and install v70362000?

Sorry, but That function is Only available in the Overview/Preferences Section of Paid Versions of Zone Alarm..
And I recomend going back to ZAFree 6.5.xxx
You will probably experience the Same Problems you are having Now, with Any ZAFree Version 7.0.xxx
some recent changes in the new version ZA 7 x Free version XP/2000
-"only", which we ourselves slowly discovered - There is a ZA Security Suite
hidden underneath the ZA 7x Free. Which the 'phantom' non-functioning Kaspersky av in there (may ?
conflict with your
anti-virus plus other functions)
>>
Solution - First uninstall/delete ZA 7 x
Free and then install the old version 6.5.737 ZA Free
of Aug. 31, 2006 - here is the link -

http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...seHistory.html
. -to the Release History page -
go to 6.5 Branch - and find 6.5.737.000 -
to download this version, if successful; your
system will be working again} - [ later, you may get a ZA program update box - you may not want to automatically update that - this would be an update to the new ZA 7 x Free, again,
- not again - tell it to remind you in 60 days- repeat and rinse, wait until further developments].

I've been running 7.0.337.000 prior to 408, and had not experienced any problems until I upgraded yesterday. I guess I will downgrade, and see what happens. Thanks again for your help.

I figured out the issue. The problem turned out to be related to the version of the Windows Novell Client (4.90SP2) I was using. It appears that the upgrade to ZA corrupted the Novell Client, so my login script process was failing and causing the reboot and system failure error. I removed ZA 7048000 and installed v70362000, re-setup my firewall and program settings, then installed the Novell Client (4.91SP4). My system no longer showed system errors in the event log, so I upgraded to ZA v70408000. Now I noticed that I no longer had a connection to a remote server elsewhere in the Novell tree, so I re-installed the latest Novell Client and rebooted. This seems to have worked.
