    Default Vista 32-bit instalation issues.

    I've upgraded to Vista,the process of which was surprisingly painless. And then I made the mistake of trying to use Zonealarm for my internet security.
    I used the latest exe for Vista from the Zonealarm site. The result mess after I launched the exe locked up my computer and reduced Windows to a slow and barely usable husk. The windows became unreponsive and it took 2 minutes, 5 seconds ( I timed it on the third attempt) for my email address to appear in the window after I had typed it in. After enduring this, it would start to install, then crash and inform me that VSINIT.dll was unverifired or validated or something. Then I would have to reboot my computer in order to return it to a usable state.

    I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem or would be able to shed some light on this issue.

    PLEASE try updating your Root Certificates and see if that will solve your problem. RE: VSINIT.dll

    I also recently purchased Vista 7.1 for a computer with Vista Home edition.
    I also received the error Validation failed for C:\Windows\system32\vsinit.dll while installing c:\Windows\System32\zonelabs\vsmon.exe and also
    Validation failed for
    C:\Windows\system32\vsutil.dll when installing c:\Program Files\Zonealarm\Zonealarm\zclient.exe
    although clicking through this and getting the usuall questions you get when installing and rebooting.
    Although
    I did as you suggested
    in getting a new root certificate but this has not solved the problem.

    Another problem in assoiciation with this is that after going through in Safe Mode uninstalling ZASS v 7.1, and reinstalling and still getting the above validation errors, rebooting as the normal procedure after installing it, I also geta question as to grant Internet Access Rights to IE Host Process for Window Services (Win XP Component) Generic Host Proces for Win 32 Services ZA has automatically detected the missing components to add to your list of trusted programs.

    then I get a Red X on the taskbar telling me that TrueVector security Service is shutdown.
    And this Locks me completely out of being able to use IE!
    The only way to be able to use IE is to reboot into Safe Mode and uninstall ZASS.

    I am totally lost as to what to do in using ZASS.
    Will I not be able to use this program in Vista?
    Do I have to go purchase (heaven forbid) Norton's Security Suite.

    Will I have wasted my money in purchasing ZASS?

    Please Help!
