Default ZAISS 7.0.462 not a valid Win32 application?

I have not received an upgraded file since 7.0.337 and have successfully downloaded the 7.0.462 upgrade.
But when I try to install it, I get a message that says it is not a valid Win32 application, and I can't install it.
Can anyone
tell me how to move forward?
I'm a little concerned, seeing all the other postings about people
with problems after
installing this latest upgrade.
I do not have any other Spyware Software on my computer and the Windows Firewall is disabled.
Also, why wouldn't I have received the interim upgrades between 7.0.337 and 7.0.462?
Thanks for any help
you can offer.

Welcome to the Forum!

SOLUTION - I get an invalid Win32 application error

You Have an incomplete or Corrupted Download.

This is sometimes caused by:

1.) Using a Download Manager program to excelerate the Download.. (MS IE7 gives Better Downloads)

2.) Lots of other Programs running in the background, Playing Music or Games during the Download)

3.) Poor Internet Connection or downloading large files over a Dialup Connection..

Try downloading the file again..

Here is a Direct link to the ZASS Downloads..

Thanks for the quick reply. I am using IE7 and no games or other programs in background. BUT I do live in the country and dial-up is my only option. If this is indeed the problem, do you have any suggestions on how to get a successful download?

Thanks again!

- do not use any web accelerators (often used with dial-up) nor download managers -temporarily shut off/ stop the web accelerator

- if you plan to use the recommended "clean" install" option - you can try this: just prior to new downloading attempt, on your current ZA > go to "Overview" > Preferences > General - "uncheck the box for" = 'Load ZoneAlarm at startup' > click once, wait - it may take a few minutes for it to register, but it will clear the box. Now, download and install your new 462. Unloading the old version will ensure less conflicts between the old version and new version; after install you will have to re-start your pc. Check your 'Product Info" - Licensing Information, expiration, Preferences, etc.
NaiveMelody NYC 12-5-07 - I Can't Tell You Why - The Eagles

Now it's a problem with my XP Pro
system and ".462".
I spent almost 4 hours downloading this version (dial-up) and I got 39,970 kb which is what the file size said it should be, BUT I'm getting that SAME error message that it is "not a valid Win32 application".
I already have the .408 version on this laptop AND my XP desktop, so WHY am I having this trouble AGAIN?????
The only other programs running are AVG Free and IE6.
This is a similar problem that my mother had on her XP machine as well with the 408 ver.

Hi!as already mentioned this is 99% of the time a corrupted installer.A download can be corrupted even if file size may be the same.I would ask a friend with broadband to dowload for you the installer (always without using any download managers), this way you will be sure its not (or it is) a ZA/PC issue.Cheers,Fax
