    Default Uninstall & Reinstall--Need Help

    I have ZASS 7.0.408 and Windows XP. I also have Spy Sweeper. ZASS Client shuts down on reboot or attemped start of the program. Uninstall will not work, including the /clean addition, because TrueVector is supposedly being used and will not allow shutdown. I cannot access the internet. I think that ZA is blocking access to the internet which has happened before. This message is from another computer on the same network so I know the connection is working.

    I cannot run ZASS, I cannot uninstall or reinstall, I cannot access the internet. Otherwise, things are just great. Is there any hope??

    If there is an option in the webroot spysweeper to not start up with windows, then enable that. Also, just make sure the startup guard in the spy sweeper is allowing all of the ZA processes (zlclient.exe, vsmon.exe, scanning process.exe) to start and run. I hope the spy sweeper does not have the antivirus installed in it or is active - using two antiviruses at the same time on the same PC can cause problems.


    Then start the PC in the safe mode.
    Then open the c:\windows\internet logs folder and delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in that folder. Clean the Recycle Bin.
    Then reboot into the normal mode.

    After the first few alerts from the ZA, allow and ok and such, then make sure the DNS server(s) and the DHCP (gateway or router or modem or providers dhcp) are listed as Trusted in the Zones of the Firewall of the ZA. So then do this:



    1. Go to Run type in command, hit OK, and type in ipconfig /all then press enter. In the returned data list will be a line DNS and DHCP Servers with the IP address(s) listed out to the side
    2. In ZA on your machine on the Firewall>Zones tab click Add and then select IP Address(es) for the DHCP and the DNS. Make sure the Zone is set to Trusted
    3. Click OK and then Apply for each one, the DNS server(s) and the DHCP server, by IP.
    4. The localhost must be listed as Trusted. It has the address of 127.0.0.1
    5 The Generic Host Process or the svchost.exe listed in the Program list must have both Trusted and Internet access and it must have server rights for the Trusted Zone, but not the Internet Zone.
