Default Upgrading to Security Suite - license problems and no antivirus

    I run Zone Alarm on various computers. My main desktop has for some time had only Zone Alarm Pro and I have just updated to Security Suite, intending to license the installation with part of my 3 user license payment.

    Firstly, I had many problems actually canceling PRO which kept coming back....but I have now sorted that by uninstalling it before making a fresh install of the Suite.

    Now the Suite is running, I find it has no Anti-Virus...Why?? The website says that this is part of the Security Suite....

    Also it will not accept the license key (and I've pasted it and followed all the various suggestions you give on the advice pages). I even wondered if I had used all three instances for this license, so I bought a new 3 user license this morning and that doesn't work either.

    Any thoughts, before my hair is all torn out??

    Try this -<hr>

    How to Perform a Clean Install

    There is an option available to perform a clean uninstall. Please make sure that you have the latest version downloaded already, if you plan to reinstall. This will also clear up any licensing problems that you may be having.

    In order to perform a clean uninstall of ZoneAlarm, please follow the steps below:

    IMPORTANT - If you have a Cisco VPN client installed, you must first uninstall the VPN client, then follow the instructions below, and reinstall the Cisco VPN client again afterwards. This procedure will remove all traces of the TrueVector service, which was incorporated by Cisco into their VPN software. <ul>[*]If you wish to keep your settings, create a Backup from Overview - &gt; Preferences before starting, and then Restore afterwards (available in ZoneAlarm Premium products only).[*]Click on Start -&gt; Programs -&gt; Zone Labs[*]RIGHT-click on Uninstall Zone Labs Security, then select Properties[*]Under Target you will see the following line (the actual drive may be different on your system):
&quot;C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe&quot; <ul>[*]Change it to:
&quot;C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe&quot;

    (add a space and then the
    /rmlicense) = space before

    /clean ; space before

    /rmlicense<ul>[*]Click OK to save the new command line.[*]Click on Start -&gt; Programs -&gt; Zone Labs -&gt; Uninstall Zone Labs Security[*]Click OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that pop up.[*]say &quot;Yes when being prompted for the removal of all files and allow TrueVector to shut down.[*]Reboot[*]After rebooting, check for the following folders, and delete them if you find them:
&quot;Internet Logs&quot;

    &quot;Zone Labs&quot; (under your Program Files folder)

    (under your Windows System32 folder)<ul>[*]Empty your recycle bin[*]Reboot[*]install the latest version if you are reinstalling<hr>[*]click here &gt;

    XP[*][*]click here &gt;

    &gt;<ul>[*]<hr>[reccomended] Run a registry/system cleaner. ccleaner is quite good utility (<hr>Tips:- don't use web accelerator nor download manager- better to use Internet Explorer 6/ 7, instead of firefox for ZA install- in your web browser - if it has pop-up blocker settings - adjust -
    add &quot;; to safesite/whitelist in - any pop-blocker software
    you may have- with Webroot SpySweeper, SpywareDoctor, CounterSpy - temporarily shut off the shields, guards, watches, proactive protection[*]- any pc's
    that had the old ZA Pro - you should un-install with above instructions.[*]- when you had ZA Pro, and attempting to install ZA Suite - had you properly un-installed the anti-virus software you were using - first ??[*]after a new install, there is a restart/ reboot that is required.[*]Check your license key &gt;<hr>:8}NaiveMelody NYC 1-3-08 - Borderline - Madonna
Thanks so much - that's done the trick and the license has gone is fine.

    The suggestion of CCleaner was good too - the whole machine seems to be running better - I owe you a drink!

    With all best wishes,
