Thread: ZA won't minimize?

    Default ZA won't minimize?

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge and what probably appears to be laziness, but it's been a really long day. After installing NIS 2008, Symantec's technical support uninstalled my program and it wiped out one of my partitioned drives, which happened to be all my program files. Needless to say, I decided to try ZoneAlarm instead.

Anyway, I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my installation. I tried doing a search and came up empty. Does the ZA software not minimize to the system tray? There's a program open that I can't exit without shutting down the ZA security.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have any other software on my system that would conflict with ZA.

Here is the Solution from Guru Fax..IF ZoneAlarm will not Minimize after Bootup, most probably your upgrade process didn't go very well...What you are experiencing usually happens if you have more than one zlclient.exe in your boot-up process...Can you check that only one zclient.exe is called in the boot? Look for example that no other zlclient.exe is present in, for example, the startup windows folder... Check your startup with msconfig.--------------------------------------------------------

    Thanks, George.

I've checked msconfig and there's only one occurrence of Zlclient.

But now that I've checked, bleeping ccApp is still installed on my system, despite using the Norton Removal Tool. I guess that's the problem? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......................

OK, I re-started the Norton Removal Tool and it seemed to get everything. I uninstalled ZA and re-installed it and it seems to be working fine now.

    Thanks for your help.
