Default Microsoft warning message appears while installing ZA upgrade

    Hi,

I installed the upgrade to version 7.0.462.000 this morning. During the installation a warning from Microsoft appeared. It said something about ZoneAlarm not having been tested for compatibility and warned that the program might cause my system to become unstable at some time in the future. I chose to complete the installation, but now I'm wondering if that was wise. I'm using Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 with SP2. I used system restore to create a restore point before the upgrade. Has anyone else received this warning while installing the ZA upgrade?

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

    Meadowlark,

The message you get from Microsoft is normal.
A lot of reputable software companies put out their software before getting the compatibility rating.
Considering from what you stated, that you had a successful installation, you shouldn't run into any problems.
From what I've read on the forums (I consider myself a newbie with ZA),
most of the problems come from a failed upgrade.
Your creating a restore point before the upgrade was wise.
Just continue to minoitor ZAs' behavior.
If you run into any problems, there are very wise gurus that can help you on this forum.
