    Default KLIF issues?

ZoneAlarm version:7.0.462.000 free editionWin XP Pro SP2 - fully patched, also Firefox 2.0.0.12**bleep** 4.7 Home Edition
I am a Product Support Engineer for an Internet Backup Application, which I have loaded. The backup application uses StorageCraft 2.1.0.23 snapshot utility. I am having problems - best I can tell the KLIF.sys FSFD and components installed through ZA are not playing well with others, (i.e. not allowing StorageCraft 2.1.0.23 to generate snap shots of file systems).

Ideas, thoughts, or suggestions on how to successfully unload the KLIF components of ZA, or to configure them to play nicely with others?
    Thank you.

Delete the KLIF.sys file(s) and registry entries - not needed with the ZA free.

No, I have no idea. I do not use the ZA free (which is a ZAISS installer), just the ZA AS.

It should not really matter - the .sys files should be in the Drivers folder of the Windows Directory and the registry keys somewhere in the ROOT\LEGACY.

How can we download the ZA Free version w/o the embedded KLIF system driver?
Having deleted the KLIF.sys from system & registry previously, per this thread, now trying to download and install latest ZA update - the install hangs on installing the KLIF cat / cab.
    Ideas?Thanks!

Hi!there are no 7 versions without the KLIF driver. You could go back to ZAfree 6.5 for a free KLIF ZA. Apart from fixing bugs/vulnerabilities ZAfree 6 has the same fuctionality of ZAfree 7.http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.htmlCheers,Fax

Thank you. After upgrade attempt failed; terminated it; rebooted; re-ran install; then proceeded to re-remove KLIF from \Windows\System32\drivers\ and also re-purged it from Registry - and all is well in mudville.
