Default ZA uses almost 100% CPU

I am trying to install ZA Internet Security Suite 2007.
The install goes fine but after rebootin there is a ScanninProcess.exe in the task manager that using between 85-100% CPU.
This shigh CPU load coninues for about 15 minutes and then the PC locks up.
I also see that the memory load is increasing.
I have tried uninstalling (which I have to do from Safe Mode) an dreinstalling.
I don't have any other firewall, antivirus software running.

    Operating System:Windows XP Pro
    Software Version:7.0
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

    Hi rogmart

Could you please tell us what the previous firewall and antivirus was used before and if the correct remnant removal tools were used?
Or if any file and reg cleaners were used before installing the ZA?

Is there any other secruity applications installed and running?

Tried a few online scans to make sure there is no malware installed or active?

Pick one or two antivrus online scanners from the "To get help with a spyware infestation" section1 from http://spywarewarrior.com/sww-help.htm and do a few scans to make sure the PC is clean.

    Best regards.

Same problem. Foolishly paid to upgrade from old copy of ZA Pro. Wasted a whole day going round in circles uninstalling, re-installing. Beginning to seriously hate this **bleep** software.
