Default Hi guys :) After reading many troublesome posts regardi...

    Hi guys

After reading many troublesome posts regarding the 470 upgrade, i braved it, anyway
We completed the ... uninstall /clean ... instructions, prior to installing the 470 pkg.
    Installed on 2 computers:
    Compaq & Dell ... both XP Home / SP2 / IE7 / ZASS 462 ...
Install went smoothly and first scans completed in relative good time (could have been quicker) Dell 1hr 41 min / Comp 2 hr 28 min.Nothing found following the scans
Ok, let's back up to the completion of install, on the
final screen, you're given the option to view: Zone Alarm Tutorial
    or
    Finish
... as standard practice, i click on the tutorial, both to view anything new and to see if it's functioning correctly ... problem occurs here.
When accessing the tutorial, a blank, white page appears ... when the mouse is navigated to the upper left corner of the page, a prompt appears:
click here to access this control ... when clicked, nothing happens.
Closed that page and completed the install by clicking "Finish".
Proceeded to "auto configure" ZA ... then, from the Overview page, again i tried to access "tutorial" link, on right side of page, only to have a repeat of the blank page, prompt = no function.

Went back to ZA home page, updated AV/S definitions and completed initial scans ... which went well, as stated above.

Also, noticed under the Privacy menu ... all 3 controls are "off" ... aren't they supposed to be "on" or should i do that, manually ??
(thought maybe they are off while in Auto Learn ??)
Alrighty then, feeling comfortable enough to check my email ...
    i opened my homepage, "Yahoo"...
and noticed the video ad did not
display ... it was just a
blank, white screen (not that i mind ) ... But, was thinking maybe the two are 'linked' to an incorrect setting, somewhere ???Not saying for sure it's ZA ... could very well be, operator error

    Anybody have any ideas ???thanks,mouse

    Hi!
from what I can understand from your post you have a problem with the flash player in your browser.
The only ZA feature that can block flash player is the ZA privacy settings.

You should try to turn OFF completely all privacy features in ZA (cookies, adblocking and mobile control) and then trying to run flash player demo video.

If you still have problems then you should look to your browser settings or the installation of your flash player.

    Cheers,
    Fax
P.S. Yes, by default, ZA privacy settings are OFF. ZA privacy settings are not easy configure for user that do not know well ZA. Have a look at this troubleshoot guide on how to customise your ZA privacy settings: http://zonealarm.donhoover.net/privacy.html

    Thanks Fax,
You were right, again ... as i thought i'd successfully re-installed the player ... apparently, that was not the case.
I resolved the issue by running the UNinstaller a total of 3 times with
    a re-boot in between, each.

Currently, all seems to be running well.
Thanks for the "privacy" info ... and no, i am not
advanced enough to even begin playing with those controls
All are set to 'off', as was the default at install.
Thanks again and will follow up on your learning suggestion ... am gettin' it, i think mouse
