Default Upgrade now pops up Control Center on startup

Until the most recent upgrade to the free version of ZoneAlarm (7.0.470.000), it would always start quietly and remain in the tray. Now the Control Center is open after startup and I must close it. Can I restore its old behavior?

Operating System:Windows XP Pro
Software Version:7.0
Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)

Default ZA Starting in full window at startup

You may want to
check that you don't have two (2) zlclient.exe been called at bootup. Also check in Task Manager.

If two, you need to remove one.Use "msconfing" and check in the startup tab.[ Start > Run > type "msconfing" > OK > Startup - check 'zlclient' ]If MSCONFIG indicates that there were in fact two instances loading.

Disable one.

Helpful hint: next time you upgrade do this to prevent your current issue...You can try this: just prior to new downloading attempt, on your current ZA > go to "Overview" > Preferences > General - "uncheck the box for" = 'Load ZoneAlarm at startup' > click once, wait - it may take a few
seconds for it to register, but it will clear the box.[*]
Please restart/ reboot. <[*]>
Now, download and install your new 470. Unloading the current/ old version will ensure less conflicts between the old version and new version; after install you will have to re-start your pc. { this is a Super Tip - that will help prevent some 'true vector issues' on upgrades/ updates } Special Note: this works fairly well within those updating from any 7x series
