Default blank screen on control center v 7.0.470 "upgrade"

can't find any answers as to why the blank screen on control center v 7.0.470 "upgrade". I did a clean install.
anyone have a solution? I know it's working as the zlclient process is in task mgr & pop-up asks when a new program wants access.
I've tried deleting logs etc similar to earlier version solutions. NG
and it's not other programs inter-acting either, as they have always played nicely together :-)
I tried add/remove-it shows the earliest version I installed, not the new one.
    help - please

Make sure you are not running another active anti-virus, anti-spyware or firewall.
Do a clean uninstall and an install in the following manner. Using Safe Mode guarrantees that no other processes are running.

    Download ZoneAlarm:

    www.zonealarm.com

    Support

    Product-Specific Support (click on product)

    Release History
    UNINSTALL
    --------------
Append " /clean /rmlicense" (without quotes) to ZoneAlarm uninstall shortcut target
    Reboot Safe Mode (without networking)
    Uninstall ZoneAlarm from shortcut
Reboot Safe Mode (without networking): reboot requested by ZoneAlarm
Create file ZADelete.bat and edit with Notepad
Copy and paste the following lines into ZADelete.bat, then save and exit:
    RMDIR /S /Q "%PROGRAMFILES%\Zone Labs"
    RMDIR /S /Q "%SYSTEMROOT%\Internet Logs"
    RMDIR /S /Q "%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\ZoneLabs"
    ECHO Y | DEL /F "%TEMP%\*"
    ECHO Y | DEL /F "%SYSTEMROOT%\Temp\*"
    ECHO Y | DEL /F "%SYSTEMROOT%\Prefetch\*"
    Double-click ZADelete.bat
Create file ZADelete.reg and edit with Notepad
Copy and paste the following lines into ZADelete.reg, then save and exit:
    REGEDIT4
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ZAMailSafe]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zone Labs]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Zone Labs]
    [-HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Zone Labs]
    Double-click ZADelete.reg
    Empty Recycle Bin

    INSTALL (SAFE MODE BOOT)
    -----------------------------------
    Install ZoneAlarm
Reboot Normal Mode: reboot requested by ZoneAlarm
Anti-virus / Anti-spyware > Update Now (repeat until no further updates)
Run virus/spyware scan: requested by ZoneAlarm (enables automatic signature updates)

Very often a database of the ZA will fix this:
[*]Boot your computer into the Safe Mode[*]Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder[*]Delete the backup.rdb, iamdb.rdb, *.ldb and the tvDebug files in the folder[*]Clean the Recycle Bin[*]Reboot into the normal mode[*]ZA will be just like new with no previous settings or data

There is the possibility there are still files and drivers from the previously installed firewall still in place causing conflicts.

Download the latest ZA free from here. Please do not use any web accelerators or download managers! to download the ZA installer. These will corrupt the ZA installer!
Preferred browser is the Internet Explorer.

Uninstall the present ZA using the /clean uninstall but this time in the safe mode and then reboot back into the safe mode to install the ZA. Do not install in the normal mode.

    Best regards.
