    Default ZASS renewal - failure message & old licence key reappeared

    I've tried today to update my ZoneAlarm by buying the 2 year renewal package.
    I followed the instructions to install it but got the message:

    Installation failed.Downloaded file is not ZoneAlarm installation.URL: 'http://redirect.zonelabs.com/redirect/route?mode=1&app=inclient&date=1&dest= stub&oem=1042&prod=5&lang=en&link_ id=1'.
    ---------------------------


    Before I saw this message (it was hidden behind the Explorer window I had open) I had already updated the licence key in ZoneAlarm, and got the "Your licence key was successfully installed" message.
    Under Support and Update Information it says it expires in 730 days, which looks right.
    But the licence key has now gone back to the old one we had before.
    The Version Information says 7.0.470.000 but I don't know what it was before...
    So have I successfully renewed or not?!
    Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Hi!
    remove you current ZA with /rmlicense switch.
    This will wipe out any previous information on your system related to ZA key.

    Hi fax - thanks so much for the tip - I ran an uninstall and after a scary moment when I thought I'd lost everything........

    I found the installation file, installed, added the new licence key & hey presto - back to normal.

    BIG sigh of relief.
    I emailed customer services before trying this and their reply was "You may need to allow at least 24 hours for the key to update in your program. You would still be protected in your program even when the subscription has not updated."
    Not particularly reassuring I thought.

    Hopefully I won't have any more problems for another 730 days!
