Thread: ZA Security Suite Automatic Upgrade

Default ZA Security Suite Automatic Upgrade

I use Vista Ultimate (SP1 installed) on Dell Desktop PC. I use ZA Security Suite:
ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:7.1.248.000
TrueVector version:7.1.248.000
Driver version:7.1.248.000
Anti-virus engine version:3
Anti-virus signature DAT file version:952003833
Anti-spyware engine version:5.0.189.0
Anti-spyware signature DAT file version:01.200805.3995
AntiSpam version:5.0.0.8843
I have just noticed that a later version of ZASS (v 7.1.254) was released on 22-4-2008.
My ZASS is set to automatically check for product updates but I have received no notification of the newer version. In the past the ZASS updates have appeared automatically without me needing to look. I have recently (2 days ago I set a password for ZASS).
Could someone explain what is happening with automatic product update process?? Why has the newer version not been advised through ZASS automatic processes??

Hi!
No idea... why you are getting no notification.
Did you perhaps selected once 'remind me again in XX days'? Or someone else did it?
Have you tried to manually check for updates (check for updates)?

Otherwise just:
1. Download latest installer;
2. Backup your ZA settings (ZA overview --> preferences)
3. On your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (ZA overview --> preferences)
4. Reboot
5. Install the new update. 'Upgrade' option (to keep your settings and configuration) or 'clean' option (to start from ZA defaults)

All the above steps are not really needed but they should ensure a smooth transition to the new version without surprises.

Cheers,

I am not aware that setting a password wouldstop the product update... Does the manual update works if you push 'check for update'?It is indeed a minor update but still an update...Cheers,Fax
