I used (free)Zone Alarm's uninstall option to remove the product. Of course, this 'uninstall'
leaves file and registry entries all over the place. Windows Defender reports that Zone Alarm is still active and on, and warns me that I should not have two firewalls active when I try to turn on Windows firewall. I've manually removed Zone labs
files and other
leftover Zone Alarm entries in other areas
including registry subkeys as directed on this forum.
These removals also kill my LAN connection and Win Defender's opinion still doesn't change.
A system restore brings the LAN back. I've
repeated this removal operation several times with the same result.
Where and what is Win Defender looking at that tells it that Zone Alarm is
active? And, any ideas on what I
might have deleted in the Zone Labs files that would cause the LAN problem
