It looks like your Registration Key in the WinXP Registry may have gotten Corrupted..

Try a clean unistall of the program with the /rmlicense switch to remove the old License then reinstall the program and enter your valid license key again.....

1.) Download a Current Copy of Zone Alarm Security Suite from
ZA website in the release history section.

Recommended Actions -

Download and install the latest versions which solve the loss of internet access problem here (English only):
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
ZoneAlarm Pro
ZoneAlarm Antivirus
ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware
ZoneAlarm Basic Firewall

2.) Go into ZA Overview/Preferences and Un-Check "Load Zone Alarm on Startup"
3.) Reboot Computer to Remove Zone Alarm drivers from Memory..
4.) Temporarily shut down any other AV/AS Security programs that May Conflict with ZA Install

5..) Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs
RIGHT-click on Uninstall Zone Labs Security, then select Properties.
Under Target you will see the following line (the actual drive may be different on your system):
    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninstexe"
    Change it to:
    "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean /rmlicense (add a space and then the /clean)
Click OK to save the new command line.
Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs -> Uninstall Zone Labs Security
Click OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that pop up.
say "Yes when being prompted for the removal of all files and allow TrueVector to shut down.
    - Reboot

Now Start again in the Safe mode and delete these files in the Windows Directory:

    WINDOWS\ Internet Logs

    Program Files\Zone Labs

    WINDOWS\system32\ Zonelabs

    Now Reboot

Using something like this Freeware CCleaner <--- http://www.ccleaner.com/download/bui...wnloading-slim
, will help do the cleanup as well on both the Hard drive and the Registry .

Now Re-install the ZA program now.Accept the default settings and Choose the TRUSTED ZONE and not the INTERNET ZONEReboot and do a manual Check for AV/AS Definition Updates..Good Luck..--------------------------------------------------------

    George,
I tried your suggestion twice with no luck.
It still won't accept my registration so I went back to an older version then lowered the internet zone to medium.
If that procedure works on other machines I don't know what I missed.

on Rare Occations when Updating to a New Version of ZA, a few computers end up corrupting the License Key in the resistry and will not accept the New License key..The Remidy is to use the "\rmlicense switch to remove the old or corrupted licence key from the Windows Registry, sio that it will accept he correct or new license key..Try a clean unistall of the program then reinstall the program.....

    George,
I've followed your proceedures twice more and still cannot put in my license key.
    I also
tried a registry cleaner after the uninstall which didn't help either.

If you did a Clean Uninstall with the \clean \rmlicense switches, that will remove all traces of your old license key and the new install will accept any Valid License Key for that version of ZoneAlarm..Now if it will not Accept your Key,1.) You may be entering the Key wrong? Key are Case Sencitive.. Most Alphanumeric letters are usuallu in Lower case, and some letters can be mitaken for other numbers or leters..Letter "Oh" and "Zero", Lower case "L" and Number one.. etc..2.) you may ant to contact Customer Service for Free and tell them about your License Key problem, www.zonealarm.com/csformor click on the Customer Service Icon at the bottom of this message..
