    Default The crtical issue, question?

    Dear All,

I moved the slider to "medium", I uninstalled the KB53387 or whatever it is and everything was good.

The problem now is windows updates everytime I log off, My real question is this, I use an older version of Zass, and a couple of weeks ago, when I tried to install the latest version, my system just mis-behaved and ground to a halt, so I re-installed the older version (70-462) and all was good.

Is there a way to fix the critical issue problem without going to version 70-470, as I am really loathe to try again

    Regards David

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition

You need to do two things to fix your problem:
    1) Install the latest version of ZoneAlarm which fixes the problem with KB951748.
Here's the procedure you should use:
    1) Uncheck Overview > Preferences > Load ZoneAlarm ... at startup

    2) Reboot

    3) Install ZoneAlarm; when prompted, choose Clean Install

    2) Allow Windows Update to install KB951748. The slider may now be set to High. The Medium setting is not recommended for the Internet Zone.

Appreciate the response, but I upgraded to 70.483 and still the same problem, my computer has just ground to a snails much so that just even opening a browser takes about 3mins.

I will go ahead and try this

That usually indicates database corruption. Try this:
    1) Ctrl + Shift right-click on ZoneAlarm System Tray icon

    2) Click Reset in popup box

    3) Click Yes in Reset Settings dialog box

    4) Click OK when prompted to reboot

    5) Follow onscreen prompts after reboot

    Thank you for your replies.

When I get home I will let you know How I get on, Its strange though as I have used ZASS for years and 70.462 was perfect save for the recent Microsoft upgrade..vers 70.470 & 70.483 is giving me a headache

    Regards David
