Default ZAISS 8.0. I fell into the trap> Reset ZA to Default Settings

You would think I would have learned my lesson by know.
I just built a blazingly fast Vista Ultimate machine and was running ZAISS 7.1 wheni I got the update message.
    I stupidly clicked on it.
Now it takes seconds to open up most web sites instead of immediately and CNN.com is a hit and miss.
Most times at CNN I get a page not found error and have to reload it numerous times.
If I shut down 8.0 everything ZOOMS.
I tried uninstalling 8.0 and reverting, but 7.1 would not run.
I tried a system restore, but it did not bring back 7.1.
I hope they fix this quickly as I do not want to use my backup and go through all that trouble.
I have already spent over 4 hours of my time on this BS.
I wonder who tests these software releases.
I know a bunch of Chimps wouldn't release this type of lousy code.
I (think) I have learned my lesson and will hopefully never again be one of the first updaters.ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATEDStu

Default ZASS 8.0 issues with web sites not loading...

Hi!try to reset the ZA settings. it is your privacy settings creating problems. This way:1.) Hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys together
2.) Right click on the ZA icon near your clock
3.) Choose 'Reset' from the box that comes up
4.) Choose Yes on the Reset Settings dialog box
5.) When prompted, choose OK to restart your system
6.) Follow the on screen configuration prompts after rebootCheers,FaxP.S. Please try to use a title that explain the issue, otherwise its difficult to recognise spam message from a genuine request for support.

You beat me to it. Exactly the same issue today on exactly the same PC config.
Clearly they have lost the QA department at Zone Alarm when Check Point took over. Like many software companies (I could name many) they reach a point in their existence when they simply cannot be bothered to check their software before it leave the factory!! I could write lines and lines about the time I wasted over my life seeing (and fixing) these sort of issues. Yes I wish that I have paid a visit to this forum before upgrading, I do that every other time, why not this time, perhaps I thought I was a software engineer and assumed it would work!
Anyway the fix that the support person gave to your original post did solve the problem in the end. Perhaps they should include a reset in the install procedure!
