After a major problem I had installing iTunes 8.0 on my Vista PC I ended up having to reinstall Vista and all of my applications.
Since I did that everything has worked well including iTunes.
But as I recently reported on the iTunes forum I spoke too soon about not having any problems with iTunes
after I ended up doing the total Vista reinstallation.
I had to reinstall all my applications including iTunes which seemed to go OK and I was operational ,,, until I realized I hadn't yet reinstalled ZoneAlarm.
I was listening to iTunes as the Zone Alarm installation was going on.
At some point ITunes was abruptly stopped but the installation proceeded normally and all looked OK until I tried to open iTunes and nothing happened.
Assuming that ZoneAlarm had something to do with this I closed it but still nothing from iTunes.
I rebooted and nothing changed until I finally unintalled ZA and then iTunes opened normally.
At this point I'm a bit skittish about reinstalling ZA which I have been using for several years without a major problem.
Perhaps I shouldn't have been running any applications when I was installing ZA and at some point I will try to install it again.
Has anyone else had this situation?
