Default Cannot Parse XML File - A quick Fix?

    Hi Guys
I'm running ZAISS on my Dell Precision M6300 laptop (OS - XP Home edition, Office 7) and I've just downloaded the latest update (V.8).
When I try to update virus and spyware it gives a Spyware error message
saying 'Cannot Parse XML File 'C:\etc, etc\...Zonealarm.xm' This is very frustrating. It seems everytime there's a major update there's some form of problem on one of my 2 PCs or laptop!

I've run a virus/ spyware scan to see if that would solve the problem, but no dice. Is there a quick fix for this? I am literally about to leave and go travelling on business for the next week or so and I really do not have the time to play about uninstalling, reinstalling, etc, etc.. (especially as, in my experience, a ZAISS install problerm tends to stick - for instance a
    previous problem on
    one of my
PCs, lost me over a one weeks worth of hours doing complete uninstalls and reinstalls that didn't work (following everyone's instructions to the letter)
    - in the end I had to have the HDD wiped and re-installed to sort out the problem...)

    Operating System:
    Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:
    8.0
    Product Name:
    ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Hi FaxBack from my travels, cleared the business
in-tray and finally tried your solution but no dice! Any suggestions?
To be honest I switched to ZA from Norton because I got fed up with all the irritating things that went wrong and took unnecessary time for this micro-SME to put right (I don't have IT help desks or administrators, etc and have to sort it out myself while trying to run my business). But on two major ZAISS
updates I've had time consuming problems. At the turn of the year I had a problem on my main PC where the traffic meter kept running - that lost me several days over a couple of months
    trying out various suggestions
and I could only solve it by paying to have the HDD wiped - now I have an uncomfortable feeling I'm heading there again.
    Regards,

Thanks, Fax.Are you asking if I un-installed ZA - should I have??? I didn't; I followed the instructions in your link and after deleting the files I ran update in normal mode (anti-virus updates without a problem).

    Thanks Fax
Brilliant, so once again I have to un-install/ re-install following a ZAISS update, rather than running my business! Between you and me I'm getting an uneasy feeling ZA are getting more interested in profit than product quality.

Hi!I am not here to discuss what ZA is interested in or not and honestly I couldn't care less ... I am just a user try to help other users For what it counts latest version works fine here both on VISTA and XP (the same applies to the previous version)No idea what is your problem but with a valid license you can contact, free of charge, their technical support at:www.zonealarm.com/tsform And for issues related to ZAlabs you can contact their customer support at: www.zonealarm.com/csform Thanks,Fax
