    Default Multi-user install problem

    I have installed ZoneAlarm Security Suite version:8.0.059.000 on windows XP home and it works fine on the account that installed it. All other accounts when logged in are displayed with a message ZoneAlarm has encountered a problem and must close. I have uninstalled ZoneAlarm and reinstalled it on another account and once again it works on that account and no other. Even if one of the other accounts is the first to start it still fails. This would appear to me to be an access problem of some description with the installer account owning or having permissions over something that the others dont. I have had several suggestions from the support team none of which worked though. Has anyone else had this experience and can offer a fix or at least point me in the right direction. Cheers Rich

    I have experienced the same problem.
    It turns off
    Zone Alarm for
    other users.
    Anyone else out there with this issue?I too have just installed the same version of ZA suite. 12-08.

    Zone Alarm Must be Install with an Administratot Account, and not with a Limited User or Guest account..If ZoneAlarm is not Granted ADMINISTER Privilages, then it will not run when other Users log on to your computer..--------------------------------------------------------

    George, I installed zoneAlarm as an administrator. I even deleted it and reinstalled it from a different admin account with the same problem. zoneAlarm help desk have stopped replying to my emails which I think is a pretty poor show. No contact from them them at all. My advice 1. Use a product that works or if it fails it gives more information than "A fault has occured and has to close sorry if you were in the middle of something"
    2. Use a company that offers customer support. Interresting that I am not the only one with this problem the implication from the help desk was that they had not heard of this. If anyone knows who to contact for a refund then please let me know.

    There are Over 60 Million Users of ZoneAlarm world Wide..This User Forum exist to help the Few Users who encounter a problem and need to be guided in the right direction by Other more Experienced Users..

    Yes I am sorry George I didn't mean to sound off at you it was just my frustration spilling over due the lack of response from zoneAlarm. I spent 20 years in the software industry designing avionics and telecomms systems and my measure of a good company wasn't whether they had problems, we all do, it was how they dealt with those problems. Anyway I have used the contact kindly supplied by fax.
