Default ZA Suite 2009 new install, computer can't read disc

    Hello,

I bought ZA Internet Security Suite 2009 disc at store. Had 2008 ZA Suite already on computer, (running Windows XP). Put ZA disc in, will not self open, clicked my computer, could see that ZA was in CD driver, clicked on it, got "is not a valid Win32 application" msg.

I actually have 1 cd and 2 cd/dvd drives, does not work in any of them. Put Windows XP install disc in all drives, it self opens in all.
So ruling out cd?dvd drives as problem.

    Anyone have solutions?

    Thank you,
    D

Here is my Recomendation..1.) forget Trying to upgrade from the 2009 ZA Disk.. Just keep the License Key on the Disk Sleave..2.) The simplest Upgrade procedure is to:1.Download the Latestinstallerpreferably with IE Browserand no Download Manager/accelerator like Get-Right) ZASS8.0.059.000 http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...seHistory.html2. On your current ZA, UNcheck "Load ZA... at startup" (under Overview --> Preferences tab)3. Reboot the Computer. So that vsmon.exe/TrueVector will be removed from Memory4. Install the new update (clean or upgrade) and Accept the default Setting, Auto-Learn Mode and Choose Trusted Zone, not Internet Zone..--------------------------------------------------------

I used IE to download from ZA site, free trial, got error msg when I ran setup, restated computer and ZA opened up. Now I'll enter product key. What a pain in the A.. way to do it. I had uninstalled the older version so I couldn't follow your method all the way. But I think what worked was using IE rather then Firefox. I have had other problems with Firefox and downloads.

I'm still wondering why my system couldn't read the setup disc.

    Thank you,
    D
