Default Updated Cut Off Internet Access

    Hello!
I just updated the ZoneAlarm on my son's computer.
He has a Compaq Presario, with an AMD Sempron Processor 3400+, 512MB memory, Windows XP OS, and Window version 8.
    I have two problems.1)
When I try to access the internet, his browser says "Web page naviagation was cancelled" and then gives a generic "The page cannot be displayed" message.
    So- no internet access.2)
I have tried several of the ways suggested here to remove ZoneAlarm, so that I could try a clean reinstall.
Since I can't connect to the internet none of them are working.
I even tried saviing the clean install file recommended here to a flash drive, to no avail. As soon as I click on "uninstall" it crashes the whole system.
After the automatic reboot, I get
    a Microsoft
Windowserror message that says "The system has recovered from a serious error."
Of course when I try to report the problem, the whole cycle starts again.
The detail on the error message
    follows.

    Error signature:

    BCCode : 100000d1 BCP1 : C0300804 BCP2 : 00000002 BCP3 : 00000000

    BCP4 : B99F5BBC OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 3_0 Product : 768_1

    Error Report Contents:

    C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER5ee8.dir00\s ysdata.xml

Please help us get our internet back!

    Thank you.

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Software Version:
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite

Go to this URL (Copy & Paste into your Browser)

    http://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesp...ng-xp-sp3.aspx

Read the info and you will see "the new tool I just wrote"

click on that and download the tool (removeIntelPPMonAMD) and save on desktop. Double click the tool. Wait for it to finish/reboot. Let me know what happens?????

I can't to the URL on that computer because it won't access the internet.
    What else can I try?
    Thank you.

I saved the tool to a flash drive and ran it on my son's computer.
It recognized the AMD processor and said "The IntelPPMdrver is already set to disabled on this computer.
You should be ready to install Windows Service Pack 3."
I shut down the computer, waited 30 seconds and then restarted.
I got to my son's home page- alot.com once, but as soon as Itried to navigate away, I got the familiar "This page cannot be displayed" page or a dialog box that said that I was not connected to the internet.
    (I have verified that
    my internet connection is fine.)
What does PM from your previous message mean?
Is there something else we can try?
    Thank you!
