Default Brand new Computer!! Old ZA!! Don't Mix?? @#$^&

I love ZA. Have used it for years with very few problems and the ones I have had have mostly been "operator head space" type problems, so I'm hopeful this is easily answered problem also.I just got a brand new dell studio, dual core 250g hd, 4g ram, win vista hp. My old comp was win xp on which I had downloaded a number of updates since 2006. I had problems with my old comp which is why I bought the new (still have old one and will fix eventually).I uploaded za from my old to new and now I can't download from the internet (windows update still works for some reason), some websites stop loading, za doesn't show any firewall alerts and privacy sites appear and disappear after shutdown. shut za down and (horrors!) use windows firewall and ie7 works.Should I just start from scratch with a fresh install or download another from the za site or use one of my earlier version downloads and start from there?Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Operating System:Windows Vista Home Premium
Software Version:8.0
Product Name:ZoneAlarm Pro

Click here > < read carefully,
32 bit OS only? no 64 bit OS<hr>Important item: Tips: For first time users of ZoneAlarm - [*][*]

1- have you properly un-installed any previous firewall and/or <strike>anti-virus</strike>?? = this needs to be done - click here &gt;
. Most new pc/laptops come with pre-installed (trial)
security software, which should be properly un-installed prior to installing any ZoneAlarm firewall product.
Use any special &quot;Removal Tool&quot; if available.[ SuperTip: if you have used any free trial/ pre-installed
security software &gt; please be sure to cancel your account ]<hr>Just One, Not Two -- Never use two software firewalls at the same time. Completely uninstall one before installing another. Use the vendor's uninstall utility/ 'removal tool'
or if not available use the Windows XP add/remove software tool in the control panel. You can add/ use a 'hardware firewall' including a Wired Router, Wireless Router or Broadband Gateway with your ZoneAlarm firewall.<hr>Just One, Not Two -- Never use two anti-virus products at the same time.     Save to desktop, right click and &quot;run as administrator&quot;
This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.

Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions.
<hr>[*]use the link from 'within' the very top 'link # 73645' to download/ re-install
direct from ZA website; don't use from your old stash or third-party. Better to go 8.0.059. Temporarily shut-off WindowsDefender any other anti-spyware you have while re-installing ZA.[*]I don't know if Dell uses any 'extra security features' the same that Acer has caused problems with. Search/ check if Dell has any features that may block 'new' changes/ installs.<ul>
