I've had problems upgrading/installing versions of ZL Products after version 7.xx
I just tried to install ZA Extreme since my current subscription runs out in a couple of days. I am having exactly the same problem I had before when I tried to install ZA 8.XXX, the computer will get to the point in the install where it wants to reboot, then after the splash screen comes on and goes away nothing else happens, no matter how long one leaves the computer sitting.
I've tried going into safe mode and doing a system restore. But then the ZA console will not come up and ZA does not show up in the task bar.
I've ended up once again having to do a full C: drive restore from my Windows Home Server. Thank goodness something actually works as advertised.
I have been extremely happy with Zone Labs products in the past, but this is getting ridiculous, I can't uninstall Zone Alarm, I can't upgrade Zone Alarm, and it appears the only option I'm going to have left is to do a new fresh install of Windows to get things working again. Before I do that though I will have to take a look at the other options out there because one shouldn't have to reinstall their operating system to update their security software.
