Default Just purchased ZA Extreme Security and can't get it installed

I removed all other firewalls and ran the installation routine.
The first issue is when the start up window appears I attempted to insert the license key. I did a cut and paste. I was told the key is invalid. Treid several times. So I started it as a trial. It showed up in the tray. With a mouse over it said I was protected and the UI was initializing. I could never get the UI to start. I uninstalled and reinstalled. This time it killed my wireless network settings. Uninstalled it and the wireless network worked again.

I'm an experienced user and do software developer, so I'm not new to this.
I've removed my old security software, so I need to get this installed. I've used ZA a lot in the past and have not run into these types of issues.

The computer is running Vista home premium 64 bit.

Operating System:Windows Vista 64 bit
Software Version:7.1 (Vista)
Product Name:ZoneAlarm Extreme Security

ZA does not play nice with many other security tools. They may block its correct functioning including updates. For example, spyware doctor, spysweeper, trojan hunter, win patrol, PCtools Threat Fire, Mcafee, Norton, Symantec, Adaware, SpybotS&D, WinPatrol, AVG, NOD, Kaspersky and manyothers. If you want to troubleshoot issues with ZA please remove these tools (not enough to disable) and install back (if you really need) only after you see your ZASS is working as it should.33. Clean your system and registry with ccleaner.comhttp://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds/downloadbinslim34. Use the latest Downladerfrom here:http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...SPSetup_en.exe35. Install ZAX with default settings do NOT alter them. After re-boot go to ZA antivirus/antispyware and 'Update Now' and do not restore any previous ZA settings.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Its a brand new HP Paviion laptop.
It came with a trial Norton Security suite which I removed.

The only other security software now is the windows firewall which I turned off.
I'm not sure if that can be removed.

I'll use your directions to try to get it installed.

did you properly remove the Norton Security Suite with the Norton Removal tool? This is just my 2 cents worth,If your having problem installing ZA Anti-Virus or ZA Security Suiteand have ever uninstalleda previous installation of Norton Systemworks or Norton AntiVirus, or Norton Security Suite 2008/2009 or Norton 360 or any McAfee Toolswhen you use ADD/Remove to Remove any of Symantec Norton utilities, especially their Norton Anti-Virus program, they still leave lots of traces behind after the "UNINSTALL"Fortunately SYMANTEC has a Fix for this problem on the Symantec web site called "NORTON REMOVAL TOOL" that does a better job of REMOVING ALL traces of Norton Symantec files..here is the Link to the Symantec Norton Removal Tool..http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...ent&seg=hm---------------------------------------
