    Default IE 8 Won't open

We installed ZA extreme security on 3 laptops on our home network.
All are Dell inspirion 1501, 32bit Vista Home Premium running IE 8.
Two of the laptops are O.K. however the third one IE 8 no longer works.
After re-booting three times, it still does the same thing.
The first attemp to launch the browser (IE 8) after re-booting is sucsessful.
However, it will not search from the Google toolbar, or open a new tab.
When this browser is closed, it will not open another one until it has re-booted.
When we click the IE 8 icon, the browser will flash for only a split second then disappear.

    Operating System:Windows Vista Home Premium
    Software Version:7.1 (Vista)
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm Extreme Security

    Hi!
Open ZoneAlarm, click Browser Security and go to Settings --> Advanced. Turn Virtualization ON and see if you have the same issues.

If the problem still happens, then:

    - Close all browsers
    - Open ZoneAlarm
    - Click Browser Security -> Settings
    - Click Advanced tab
    - Clear virtual data and click okay
    - Now turn Browser Security off and follow these steps here

    - Click Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options
    - Click Delete -> Delete Temporary Internet Files
    - Security (Tab) -> Default Level
    - Advanced (Tab) -> Restore advanced settings

Turn browser security back on and see if it works.

    Cheers,
    Fax

    Thanks.
    The virtualization fixed it.

You're welcome!Whenever you have time please try to reset your IE settings with ForceField off.In fact, the fact that IE does not work with virtualization turned off is not normal and should not happen. Better to properly troubleshoot it before or later. Cheers,Fax
