    Default Web site pinging

Can Zone Alarm be set to stop or prevent pinging (ICMP Echo)? If it can, how?

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition
    Product Name:ZoneAlarm (Free)
    Software Version:6.0

By default ZoneAlarm would prevent the computer from responding to pings,so most likely its your modem that is responding to the pings. If you use Broadband or DSL most ISP modems have an internal NAT which is somewhat like a firewall and this is what most likely is responding to the pings you are inquiring about. But in ZoneAlarm you can check if it is by opening ZA and then going to the Firewall tab and then the Main tab on either of the Security Zones click the advanced button and scroll down to ICMP,this is the way to check it in ZA.

I don't see the ICMP feature in the free version of ZA.

Ah,the free version doesnt have the feature to disable this, but by default in the free version it does block all incoming Pings,so most likely its your modem or router thats responding to these pings.
