I'm not really sure what the **bleep** happened, but this was the sequence:
I was browsing webpages with IE 6, with ZA Pro 6 installed.
IE was the only thing running besides ZA client. My computer locked up.Ctrl-Alt-Del did nothing.I hit power-reset.Upon reboot, diskscan reports that directory entries have invalid date/time stamps. On completion of reboot, I got a ZA popup that said, effectively, that my trial period is OVER, and that protection is no longer available. Then I realized that my system clock is set
at
1/1/90 12:00 AM ! (Hence, EVERY directory entry on my harddisk was set into the future! Goddamn it!)I reset the clock to the correct time.
Anybody know if ZA would for any reason reset my clock?
(For years, my system clock used to be always a few minutes late, and had to be synched to time servers once in a while. But, lately, since I've started using ZA Pro, I've notice that the clock has never been late.
Does ZA sync the clock ?)
In the mean time, I'll go back to using Sygate, and see if the clock reset problem happens again. This will take any blame off ZA, and lay it on the battery.
