not even a google search for a solution has yeilded any positive results. is there anyone who can come to my rescue. any help will be greatly appreciated

    Operating System:Windows XP Home Edition

    Hi cyberwill,

PLEASE try the following solution, if it does not fix your problem, PLEASE post back, Thanks.

A database reset will fix the problem if Zone Alarm is the problem in the first place. Reset the database this way; you will lose your customizations and will need to reconfigure Zone Alarm.

    1. Boot your computer into the Safe Mode. {Instructions if needed}
    2. Navigate to the c:\windows\internet logs folder.
    3. Delete the backup.rdb and iamdb.rdb files in the folder.
    4.Reboot into the normal mode.

    Hi cyberwill,

What other Security, Anti-Spyware, etc. besides your Zone Alarm Security Suite, that you have installed on your computer?

Reading your last post, you did try the database reset, but it not work at all, is that correct?

PLEASE let me know as soon as possible, as I want to get this problem solved, Thanks.

    Hi cyberwil,

Are you using Ad-Watch with Ad-Aware and Tea Timer with Spybot Search and Destroy?

    Hi cyberwil,

Have you checked recently for any type of nasty bugs that may be hiding in your computer?
If not, here are a couple of sites that will scan your computer for Free and remove anything that is found.

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    http://www.trendmicro.com/spyware-scan/

    http://www.ewido.net/en/

    Panda ActiveScan

    http://www.pandasoftware.com/active...n_principal.htm

Make sure you tick Disinfect automatically under Scan Options.

Also, PLEASE try the following as this will also cause your problems with the Anti-Spyware.

This issue may be due to damaged or out of date XML files.

In the Worldwide Downloads list at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads

In the Keywords box, type "Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 Service Pack 7" and then click Go.

In the list of available downloads, click Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0 Service Pack 7 (SP7).

    Run the file downloaded

Follow the instructions on your screen.

    Reboot.

PLEASE keep me posted on your results, Thanks.

thanx 4 your suggestion slyfox but i'm still having no luck. i think the actual problem lies in the antispyware. it appears active in the overview/status. but it does not appear on the options on the left (Firewall, antivirus monitoring etc). i think my best option would be to download a zone alarm pro without antispyware because i've got enough antispyware protection on my pc. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance.
