    Default vsmon.exe eating the memory

I use the zonealarm pro 6 trial version. The vsmon.exe start with 25mb, but vsmon.exe will be in 15 minute about 350mb.
    Why?
    This is correct or incorrect?

    Sorry my bad english.

Have you granted 'server' rights to any program? Do you use a p2p program?

Actually, I understand that ZA 6.0 should be better on memory usage than ZA 5.5. When I asked about 'server' rights I meant did you grant server permission to any program on your ZA Programs List?

I think I'd suggest you do a 'clean' install of ZA 6.0. Go into the start menu and the zonelabs entry and right click on the uninstaller and select properties. Now in the target box you must add a space and then /clean to the end so that it looks something like this "C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean click apply and then OK. Next open ZA and turn off the load on boot option, then reboot and then run the uninstaller. This should get rid of all of ZoneAlarm. Now go to your windows temp folder and delete everything. Find the folder named Internet logs and delete it then empty your recycle bin.

Now install a fresh Zone Alarm. Did that help?

I have uninstalled ZA 5.5 by clean, and I deleted Win temp, Internet log folder, and I turned off Boot of startup option, etc. AndI have installed ZA 6 by clean. I blocked Program list all server permission, and I closed all not win process.
Only win process running. Win firewall I turned off.
Memory in 5 minute 150 mb, and in 30 minute 280 mb.

Yes it certainly could be a driver. You could try the process again only this time run the installation in the safe mode.

Also have you done a virus/Trojan/malwear scan? Is there a chance some critter is in your machine causing this problem?

I use etrust 7.1, Pestpatrol, Ad-watch. My pc is clean.
I started ZA 6 install in safe mode correclty, but Za 6 not running in safe mode, because in zone alarm system error. And I found a error message in system log book: TrueVector driver: Driver install or load failure: LoadNTDeviceDriver. Win32 error. This not running in safe mode.
I forgot write: I use microsoft.Net framework 1.1 Maybe this is problem?
What do you think? Win reinstall? Big work

    HI!

    I have this problem too!
    I have registered Pro version. With the vers 5.5, i don't have any trouble - but with the v6 - it's a tragedy :-(
    The vsmon resources:
    mem:300 MB, Mem peek:357M, VM 1547M (!!), IO read: 1GB
    (~ 2-3 hour )

    This is normal ??
    Thanks any idea...

I have the same issue as well. Is there any way to limit the memory usage of vsmon.exe. I am running Windows 2000 with 1 GB of RAM, ZA Pro version 6.1.737.000. Currently, the system has been running for 45 minutes and vsmon.exeis hoggingup 549.3 MB of memory.
